Graduate Collection 2025

Graduate Collection: In with the Old is a design-led project exploring how discarded synthetic materials can be transformed into contemporary fashion. Inspired by vintage sportswear, outdoor apparel and Northern English heritage, I designed and produced a five-look collection re-purposing boat sails and tents. The collection challenges the fashion industry's reliance on virgin materials while demonstrating the creative and commercial potential of circular design. Garments incorporated recycled, appliquéd and printed waste statistics to encourage greater awareness of fashion's environmental impact.

Through this project, I developed skills in concept development, sustainable design, garment construction, textile experimentation, pattern cutting and creative problem-solving. It strengthened my ability to translate research into innovative design solutions while considering sustainability throughout the design and manufacturing process, informing my approach to both fashion design and marketing.
